(PartiallyPolitics.com) – A group of 17 governors led by Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) is calling for federal leaders, including President Biden to block the U.S.’s foreign adversaries from purchasing land in the United States.

As they pointed out in the letter, they were calling for congressional leaders, Biden and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to put an end to Chian buying farmland, and other land in the United States. As they pointed out, the state legislatures had taken action for the protection of citizens from the Chinese Communist Party, however for the national security of the United States it was necessary for national leaders to also take action to respond to the situation.

They added that it was not a secret that the Chinese communist regime had been acquiring large pieces of property across the United States and that a Chinese-controlled company had purchased 270 acres of land in Michigan close to the Camp Grayling National Guard facility.

However, as they pointed out the United States  Committee on Foreign Investment had not blocked this transaction despite the dangers it posed. The governors added that the states have had to take action to protect the American people, while the Biden administration has failed to take any action to deal with the threat.

The leaders added that a “bipartisan group of eleven states” had put forward ownership laws to block the country’s adversaries from infiltrating the U.S. through the acquisition of land. They added that the Biden administration needed to acknowledge that these entities were a threat to national security.
