Hollywood celebrity Woody Harrelson said the only way he was able to stomach a dinner with President Donald Trump was to be stoned.

Harrelson made the statement in a recent interview with Esquire Magazine. The dinner in question took place long before Trump was even a candidate for president.

Harrelson told Esquire of a “brutal” dinner he attended years ago with President Trump and first lady Melania, saying “It got so bad” that he had to “go outside” and smoke a joint.

Harrelson said he was invited to join his friend, former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, who had been invited to dinner with the Trumps, where Ventura suspected that Trump was going to ask him to be his vice president in a possible 2004 campaign run –as a Democrat!

“So, Jesse Ventura is a buddy of mine, and he called me up – and this is in, oh, 2002 – and said, ‘Donald Trump is going to try to convince me to be his running mate for the Democratic ticket in 2004. Will you be my date?’” Harrelson said.

“I said, ‘Yeah, man.’ So we all met at Trump Tower, sat down. Melania was there, only she wasn’t his wife yet. And it was, let me tell you, a brutal dinner. Two and a half hours. The fun part was watching Jesse’s moves. It would look like Trump had him pinned, was going to get him to say yes, and then Jesse would slip out at the last second.”

The Oscar-nominated actor went on to accuse Trump of having a “monologue monopoly” at the dinner table and not letting him, Ventura, or the future first lady speak. And it “got so bad” that Harrelson had to leave the room.

A “Monologue Monopoly”

“Now, at a fair table with four people, each person is entitled to 25 percent of the conversation, right? I’d say Melania got about 0.1 percent, maybe. I got about 1 percent. And the governor, Jesse, he got about 3 percent,” Harrelson explained. “Trump took the rest. It got so bad I had to go outside and burn one before returning to the monologue monopoly.”

Harrelson continued, “Listen, I came up through Hollywood, so I’ve seen narcissists. This guy was beyond. It blew my mind. He did say one thing that was interesting, though. He said, ‘You know, I’m worth four billion dollars,’ or maybe he said five billion dollars—one of those numbers, I forget. Anyway, he said, ‘I’m worth, however — many billion dollars. But when I die, no matter how much it is, I know my kids are going to fight over it.’ That was the one true statement he made that night, and I thought, ‘OK, yeah, that’s pretty cool.’”

Surprisingly, the “Zombieland” star also revealed that he went to college with Vice President Mike Pence.

“As a freshman, I gave a sermon to a youth group, and Mike was the guy running the show,” Harrelson recalled. “He was a junior, I think … He struck me as a nice guy, very sincere. I don’t know how well we’d get along now, but we got along OK then.”

Harrelson stars along with other original cast members, Emma Stone and Jesse Eisenberg in Zombieland 2: Double Tap, which due for release in October.

  1. The only good thing about woody Harrelson was when he played on Cheers, such a sweet, innocent good looking young man, loved by all until he became a POS actor who forgot who supported him when he needed it.

  2. I’m confused as to why this was considered Newsworthy! Oh I get it, he is a washed up Loser Actor talking trash about our President.

  3. The only support he didn’t need is from the AH in the W House. Can’t blame him for being stones as it must be difficult being around a Pathetic lying Narcissist all night long. And he’s done some really good acting beyond Cheers.

  4. I can’t blame him for being stoned and have to listen to the AH in The W House who is a pathetic lying Narcissist. And he did some great acting beyond Cheers.. You must be blind!

  5. Harrelson, I would not have guessed that you where like many in Hollywood, All you actors, along with your moneyand uppity life style don’t have a clue what the rest of the USA want or feels like. You all live in your own little actor world. I realy though you were better that that. I was wrong. Maybe some day you will get it.

  6. Whether on the screen or off, Woody Harrelson appears to be always under the influence, giving no meaning to anything he says.

  7. Harrellson said nothing that shocked me. Narcissistic Personality Disorder is the rule of law in the Oval Office. I went as the 1st lady, for Halloween, I gave myself a make up Black Eye and bloody lip. And pos pence..? Paleese! He’s scum #1.

  8. I agree. Celebrities and famous people are respected for the talent they have and fans make them famous for their acting, sport, etc abilities BUT they must be told that their immoral lives are not respected by us nor will we hold them in esteem outside of their talent. Colin Kaepernick is an example of one who has used the fame he got from fans to disrespect our anthem and flag. Without the money from those who love football, what would he be. What makes him think that he can abuse the power he has to vent when others who are genuinely disadvantaged cannot get the exposure he has access to because he is a good football player. I have been surprised by Woody’s acting ability but only filth and blasphemies freely flow from his mouth.
