On Tuesday, Joe Biden’s officials accused Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) and Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas) of “putting politics ahead of public health” by outlawing vaccine mandates.

The White House also attempted to stir up COVID-19 fears to justify its mandates. Earlier on Monday, Abbott signed an executive order banning forced vaccinations by any entity in Texas, while DeSantis made a similar statement on Tuesday.

Biden’s officials have since threatened a federal crackdown.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said,  “We know that federal law overrides state law. I would note that earlier, when we put out our guidance on the president’s announcement about mandates several weeks ago, it made clear that again, as I said earlier, requirements are promulgated pursuant to federal law and supersede any contrary state or local law or ordinance.”

Psaki’s comments came during Monday’s White House press briefing as she suggested the administration did not plan to “sue” Abbott, DeSantis, or their states for seeking to block President Joe Biden’s pending Occupational Security and Health Administration rules that would mandate large businesses to vaccinate their employees.

But she added, “Our intention is to implement and continue to work to implement these requirements across the country, including in the states where there are attempts to oppose them,” the press secretary said. “I will say since you gave me the opportunity, Gov. Abbott’s executive order banning mandates — and I would also note the announcement by Gov. DeSantis this morning, essentially, banning the implementation of mandates — fit a familiar pattern that we’ve seen of putting politics ahead of public health.”

Later in the briefing, a reporter asked Psaki to clarify why the governors, who know “that federal rules supersede state rules,” would implement orders attempting to block Biden’s OSHA rule.

“Politics,” Psaki responded simply. “I think it’s pretty clear when you make a choice that’s against all public health information and data out there that it’s not based on what is in the interests of the people you are governing. It’s perhaps in the interests of your own politics.”

Both Abbott and DeSantis have said Biden’s mandates amounted to an unlawful federal overreach. The dispute has been expected to go to courts for a lengthy legal battle up ahead.

  1. I disagree with Ms. Psaki on all counts. I won’t bother to say more except that if Biden would stop the illegal immigrants from coming across the border and then “delivering” them to states like Florida (they’re already “home” in Texas), maybe COVID-19 cases would not have increased. Recall that the incidence of increase matches their being moved around to other states, one of which was Florida.

  2. IN THE INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE????? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND???? HE HAS RELEASED HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS INTO DIFFERENT STATES OF OUR COUNTRY WITHOUT ANY COVED-19 TESTING!!!! THIS, TO ME, IS STRICLY POLITICS AND YOU GUYS DONT GIVE A HOOT ABOUT YOUR AMERICAN PUBLIC!!!!!! HOW ABOUT SENDING ALL THESE IMMIGRANTS TO DELAWARE?

  3. IF Biden and the Democrats go after DeSantis Biden might really lose many Democrats.
Biden’s numbers are really going down I pray for the Republican party everyday and every night.

  4. Iam for vaccines and masks mandates Its very Important to get rid of Covid….and mandates is the only way. Thats why I will never vote for DeSanties again

  5. Are “mandates” laws? The Executive arm of the government cannot “make laws”; that’s up to Congress.

  6. Biden, wants all of the people to get a vaccination but illegals are coming through our borders abd we don’t know who they are. Do they have COVID? We don’t know this or if they have some other diseases. We need to send about 1,000 of these people to DELAWARE, and maybe BIDEN can take care of them

  7. According to the 10th Amendment of our Constitution, Biden doesn’t have a leg to stand on. But in truth, Biden is just a puppet, president in name only, it’s the characters behind him, that are pulling the strings.

  8. I’m proud to live in Texas and to have an amazing Governor who defends the GOD given rights of the constituents he serves.

  9. When Psaki keeps saying “against all public health information and data out there” she is just as much a liar as our POS (not POTUS). There are noted, professional and published medical people who STRONGLY disagree with some of the information being pushed by the Democratic party. Of course, they did not make their fame on AIDS articles and have not been sitting in a federal job for over three decades, but they do know about communicable diseases and immunology. The public is being bullied and scared to death by the people who want to remove ALL freedoms from the people they govern. Sound familiar?

  10. Government overreach is a big issue here. We the people are smart enough to use the science to make our own decisions on what we do with our families. Government has no right to interfere with our decision to not be vaccinated. We are smart enough to figure it out on our own, we need NO HELP FROM GOVERNMENT MANDATES.

  11. Biden has some nerve accusing DeSantis of putting politics over people’s health here in the state of Florida when he is sending all of these illegal aliens from the southern border who have Covid throughout the United States which is essentially a super spreader event. He doesn’t require illegals to be vaccinated yet he is threatening US CITIZENS with LOSING THEIR JOBS with stupid ass mandates if they don’t get the vaccine. Please explain how that’s not political! Biden can’t stand a governor with a backbone (including Governor Abbott of Texas). If covid numbers are going up anywhere it’s all on Biden’ with his ABSOLUTE FAILURE at the southern border so it’s ALL HIS FAULT!!! DeSantis REALLY cares about true Florida residents and is doing the best job he can with the economy while still providing a means for those who get covid to get monoclonal treatments and avoid hospitalization so, those of you who complain about how he governs Florida, why don’t you just move to a democratic state with mandates and lockdowns?? You’ll be happier there!

  12. so i guess this means that the federal government will be arresting everyine in colorado who sells marajunadavid

  13. When and where is it a law, not passed by Congress? The same applies to the states. Has Marshall Law BEEN DECLARED? Joe, the Dicktator!

  14. I say hooray for, Governors DeSantis and Abbott !! I live in a very blue state, and will not. Get the death JAB, my employer does not mandate anything…The government 😤 and FLIP Flop Fauci, will not dictate to me what holidays I can celebrate or where I can and can not go!!!!

  15. I抦 impressed, I need to say. Really not often do I encounter a weblog that抯 both educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you may have hit the nail on the head. Your concept is outstanding; the problem is something that not enough people are talking intelligently about. I am very completely happy that I stumbled across this in my search for one thing regarding this.

  16. Thanks for your post. I would really like to write my opinion that the tariff of car insurance will vary from one coverage to another, for the reason that there are so many different issues which contribute to the overall cost. For instance, the make and model of the car will have a tremendous bearing on the purchase price. A reliable ancient family car or truck will have a less expensive premium compared to a flashy racecar.
