Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom who is a critic of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has been revealed to have in-laws who seem to approve of the Republican Governor.

The contributions published on the Friends of Ron DeSantis PAC website records show that the Siebel Family Revocable Trust made a $5,000 contribution on April 6, 2022. The trust is run by Kenneth F. Siebel Jr. and Judith A. Siebel, whose daughter Jennifer Siebel is the wife of Newsom.

Kenneth Siebel has a history of contributing and donating to GOP candidates according to the Federal Election Commission filings. More recently his donations included Republican Sens. Ron Johnson, Tom Cotton, and Josh Hawley.

Both Newsom and DeSantis are considered to be potential 2024 contenders for the Presidential elections if President Biden and former President Trump choose to not try to win the White House again.
Newsom in July aired an ad in Florida urging people that their “freedom is under attack” and they should relocate to California.

DeSantis in response criticized Newsom for his governance and said that is why California license plates are filling Florida’s streets.

In the last week, Newsom also pledged $100,000 to DeSantis’ Democratic opponent, Rep. Charlie Crist, for his campaign. Crist is a former Florida governor.

According to recent Berkeley IGS Polls 61% of Californians, including 46% of Democrats, did not want President Biden to try for a second term. Instead, Newsom and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., were considered to be better options for the 2024 Democratic nomination.
