Biden went silent after a question on whether first lady Jill Biden would support him if he sought reelection in 2024.

The moment which has drawn a lot of criticism on social media comes from a clip from an interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart. During the interview, Capehart asked Biden if Dr. Biden was supporting him in running again. As a response, Biden paused and then proceeded to gaze at the floor. This led to Capehart following up by saying “Mr. President?”

Biden seemed reluctant in his response as he hesitated before saying that Dr. Biden thought that the work they were doing was crucial and that they should continue.

The clip got a lot of attention online and the Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel even said that the whole exchange was “scary.”

Cassandra MacDonald, Timcast News Editor in Chief, called the clip a “mess”. While radio host Mark Davis said that the President took a nap in the middle of replying. This was a comment that was also echoed by Clay Travis.

Before the question about the first lady supporting Biden, Biden had been asked whether he had made a final decision on whether he would run.
