President Biden has wished House Republicans “lots of luck” in their reported plans to use their GOP majority to look into Hunter Biden’s business dealings. Biden reportedly also said that he was not in a position to control what they would try to do.
Biden, while taking a question from the White House on Wednesday was asked about the intentions of congressional Republicans who have previously said that should they win the majority they would be launching several investigations into the President, his family, and his administration. The investigations would also be focused on specific business ventures of Hunter Biden that President Biden might have been involved in.
Biden jokingly said that he wished them “lots of luck”. He continued by saying that he did not think this was what the American public wanted, but rather they were looking for people who would work for them and “get things done”.
He added that he had no control over what they did and all he could do was continue to try to make the lives of Americans better.
Hunter Biden has been under investigation since 2018, with many probes into his business dealings.
In July it was reported that the federal investigation conducted by Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss was at a critical stage and that it was possible that they would be pressing charges against Hunter Biden regarding several tax violations and even foreign lobbying violations.
Hunter Biden might also need to face false statement charges regarding a statement he made in 2018 while trying to purchase a gun.
Regarding the investigations into Hunter’s business, President Biden has repeatedly said that he never had any information regarding his son’s business dealings.
