Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) appeared on Monday to mock Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake after being projected to lose her race.

In a tweet on Monday, Cheney quoted Lake who had tweeted a letter where she had thanked Cheney for her “anti-endorsement.” Cheney had become an active voice telling voters not to support Lake or Republican candidates who had supported the claims that the 2020 election had been stolen.

Responding to the tweet that Lake had posted weeks ago, Cheney simply tweeted back writing “You’re welcome, @KariLake,” on Monday.

In her letter to Cheney, Lake had originally talked about how high the donations for her campaign had been, while also noting that Cheney had lost her primary election. In the letter, she had also thanked Cheney for boosting their campaign, and had urged her to “Enjoy your forced retirement from politics.”

Cheney has been a vocal critic of former President Trump and is one of only two Republicans currently serving on the committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Cheney’s tweet came after all Arizona counties had reported the latest round of ballots. Even prior to this though many networks had projected that Democrat Katie Hobbs would be the winner of the close gubernatorial race.

  1. LIZ CHENEY IS ONE OF THE FEW JOHN MCCAN LIKE TRUE STATESMEN. COMPARED THIS TO THE LOSERS LIKEBIG MOUTH TED CRUZ THAT REALLY DOESNT ACCOMPLISH ANY THING FOR OUR (HIS) COUNTRY. WHAT AN ASHOLE LOSER HE IS. HE IS ACTUALLY AN INSURECTIONST TRATOR TO THE COUNTRY AND OUR CONSTITUTION. HE HAS FORGOTTEN HIS SWEARING TO UPHOLD OUR CONSTITUTION INSTEAD SUPPORTING THE ROUGE PRESIDENT TRUMP.. THE SOONER HE AND ALL THE TRUMP SUPPORTERS ARE GONE THEN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY CAN AGAIN BE LIKE IT WAS IN THE LINCOLN AND JOHN MCCAIN LEADERS. I USED TO BE A REPUBLICAN BUT IF I WERE ONE NOW I WOULD BE ASHAMED TO ADMIT IT.
