House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., has vowed that he would be subpoenaing 51 intelligence agents who may have had an effect on the 2020 presidential election when they claimed that the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop was a Russian disinformation campaign.

At the time, then-candidate Joe Biden had used the letter written by the 51 former intelligence operatives in order to respond to then-President Donald Trump during the 2020 presidential debate. This was during a time when Biden had been questioned about the findings on the laptop.

McCarthy, whom many suspect to be the next House Speaker following the Jan. 3 election, told Fox News that those 51 intel agents were all wrong when they signed a letter stating that the Biden laptop case was Russian collusion. He added that many of these agents also had high-security clearance.

Partisan operatives from former President Barack Obama’s administration had been key in supporting Biden’s narrative without actually having the facts to support it. This included former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan.

McCarthy has said that all 51 of these agents would be brought in front of a House committee to provide their testimony regarding why they felt inclined to lie to the American public by signing that letter.
