(PartiallyPolitics.com) During a zoom call with reporters, White House Counsel spokesperson Ian Sams argued that reporters were attempting to create controversies over the discovery of the classified documents in President Biden’s possession in order to gain more attention.
Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher during the interview let Sams know that following their previous briefing there had been reporters who went to the White House Press Secretary’s briefing and complained about the previous briefing not being televised. He asked afterward whether Sams would be willing to have a broadcasted briefing where reporters would be allowed to ask all of their questions.
Sams argued that he has tried to provide the press with as much information as possible and has even answered a few questions in the past. He also added that he had left the door open for anyone who was interested in having interviews. Finally, he concluded that in every presidency there were reporters who were trying to create controversies where they don’t exist in order to get more time for the report.
Sams continued by saying that there was also the Justice Department search to take into account, which should not be influenced by outside forces. This limits the information that they can provide as they try to maintain the integrity of the investigation.
This is not the first time that Sams has made seminal comments. He has previously appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” where he maintained that the Biden administration was doing everything in its power to cooperate with the investigation.
