(PartiallyPolitics.com) Following the revelation that classified documents had been found in former Vice President Mike Pence’s Indiana home, former President Trump took to his Truth Social platform to defend Pence.

In his post, he calls Pence an “innocent man” who had never done “anything knowingly dishonest in his life.” He then urged others to simply leave Pence alone.

According to the first CNN report on the news about Pence’s classified documents, the search of Pence’s Indiana home had been cautionary following the revelation that classified documents had been found in Biden’s Delaware home. According to Greg Jacob, Pence’s attorney, Pence had consulted with experts on how to proceed with the search.

It was Jacob that wrote to the National Archives on January 18 to inform them of the small number of documents with classified documents that had been found in Pence’s possession. The documents had been discovered two days earlier and were collected by the FBI one day later.

The revelation comes at a time when Pence is deciding on whether he will place a bid for the White House in 2024. However, it is tough to say whether the discovery of the classified documents would have any effect on Pence’s presidential ambitions, especially as both Trump and Biden are facing their own investigation regarding the classified documents right now.

Still, the discovery of Pence’s classified documents could hinder any attempts made by Republicans to use the case of the classified documents against President Biden.
