(PartiallyPolitics.com) Following the State of the Union address, President Joe Biden’s chances of being the Democratic presidential nominee have grown exponentially.
During his speech, Biden said that he was planning to “finish the job” regarding the nation’s economy and that he would continue to protect the country against threats to its sovereignty. As proof of this, he referenced the recent incident with the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that had been shot down off the coast of South Carolina.
British bookmaker Betfair had now improved its odds on President Biden being the presidential nominee for his party from 4/5 to 4/6. They also increased his odds of winning the 2024 presidential election from 7/2 to 14/5.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said that while Biden had for a long time been the leading Democratic nominee on Betfair Exchange, the State of the Union speech helped shorten his odds. He also added that when the classified documents had been found in Biden’s home his odds had been 4/5.
He added that Biden’s odds of winning the White House have also been shortened from 7/2 to 14/5, which would effectively make him the favorite in the presidential election. Ron DeSantis is currently at 7/2 while Donald Trump is at 4/1.
During the State of the Union address, Biden had to deal with a lot of shouting and heckling from the Republican side.
