(PartiallyPolitics.com) On Monday, the White House press secretary during the press briefing was repeatedly asked about polls that indicated that the American people did not trust the Biden administration. These polls also indicated that the successful midterm results in 2022 were not related to President Biden at all, despite the fact that the White House has repeatedly claimed that they were.
The reporter presented the facts to Jean-Pierre by referencing a recent NBC poll which showed that only 34 percent of Americans currently thought that the President was honest and trustworthy. In the poll, only 32 percent of respondents said that they would trust Biden in how he handles a crisis, while 31 percent thought he was both competent and effective as the President.
Other important points from the poll include that only 23 percent of Americans currently thought that Biden was capable of uniting the country, while only 28 percent thought he had the mental and physical health required to carry out the Presidential duties. These results are far lower than the ones similar polls had shown at the start of the Biden presidency.
The reporter after presenting all of these percentages asked Jean-Piere where the conviction that President Biden has important for the 2022 midterm election came from.
Jean-Pierre maintained that the Democrats had been successful because of how much attention was placed on Biden’s achievements including the CHIPS and Science Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. She added that the Democrats had focused their campaigns on pointing out that they are able to deliver on their promises which is what made them successful.
