(PartiallyPolitics.com) – A new Yahoo News/YouGov Poll has shown that a large number of Americans believed that President Biden was “too old” to seek reelection.
The poll showed that 68 percent of registered voters believed that Biden was too old to serve another term. When it comes to party lines, 48 percent of Democrats agree that Biden is too old, while 34 percent disagreed. On the other hand, 85 percent of Republicans and 71 percent of independents consider Biden too old to serve another four years in office.
Notably, 46 percent of independents and 45 percent of all registered voters believe the same regarding former President Donald Trump, who would be 78 at the start of his second term if he won in the 2024 presidential election. This would mean that he would be 82 by the time his second term ends.
Biden on the other hand is already 80, which means that he would be 82 at the start of his second term and 86 at the end of it.
Respondents were also asked about how concerned they were “about Joe Biden’s health and mental acuity?” In response, 60 percent said they were very or somewhat concerned. Along partisan lines, the breakdown showed that 41 percent of Democrats, 82 percent of Republicans, and 68 percent of independents were concerned.
On the other hand, only 46 percent of all registered voters had the same level of concern about Trump’s “health and mental acuity.”
