(PartiallyPolitics.com) – President Biden has received a lot of criticism online after chuckling during a discussion about a mother who lost her two children to fentanyl usage in 2020.

Biden addressed the case during the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference in Baltimore on Wednesday night. The event took place one day after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., attempted to put all of the blame for the presence of fentanyl in the country on the Biden administration.

During a House hearing on the southern border, the woman and mother Rebecca Kiessling was brought in to testify about the death of her two sons on July 29, 2020, to fentanyl poisoning. According to a report in the Detroit News, the two took what they believed at the time to be Percocet pills which were found to contain fentanyl. During the Tuesday hearing, Greene alleged that the government had been failing the American people.

Following the hearing, she shared a clip from the woman’s testimony on Twitter urging people to listen to this woman who had lost her children to fentanyl because the Biden administration had so far failed to secure the border and stop Cartel from bringing Chinese fentanyl in the country.

When talking about Greene’s remarks Biden laughed after he said “Isn’t [Marjorie Taylor Greene] amazing? Oof.” He proceeded to explain how Greene’s accusations about him being responsible for the two deaths were particularly interesting because he was not yet in office when the deaths occurred. This would mean that the fentanyl had been brought into the U.S. and had led to the deaths during the previous administration.
