(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Sunday, Fox News contributor, Geraldo Rivera, proposed a different potential nominee for the 2024 presidential nomination.
While former President Donald Trump continues to lead the polls for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination, he is still facing a number of other troubles which have led to people questioning what would potentially happen if Trump does end up facing a criminal indictment in the next week. There are also those who have criticized Trump and have noted that he was the one responsible for the underwhelming performance of the GOP during the 2022 midterm election.
Rivera, who is a rotating co-host on Fox News’ weekday program The Five, continues to be one of Trump’s biggest critics in the network. On Sunday, Rivera took to Twitter to suggest someone who could potentially gain the support of the GOP in the primary election.
Rivera had not supported Trump in the 2016 election either, he further said that he would not be voting in favor of Trump in the future because of the comments that he had to make regarding Mexican immigrants.
Rivera’s suggestion regarding who could be a strong option for the Republican primary was Chris Christie. Christie had previously run for the White House in 2016, but withdrew from the race and endorsed Trump. He has not yet announced what his plans for 2024 are, but it is widely expected that he is going to announce his decision within the next two months. Christie has repeatedly criticized Trump in the past claiming that the former President had let the party down.
