(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) targeted former President Trump’s character with his remarks this past week. DeSantis, who has not yet announced what his plans for the 2024 presidential election are, has normally stayed silent as Trump launched attacks and jabs at him. However, this past week for the first time he made his own remarks against Trump, which led to both Trump and his backers responding to DeSantis’ comments.

During a Monday press conference, DeSantis had claimed that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) was a “Soros-funded prosecutor” and stated that he was trying to further a political agenda with the probe. However, his comments did not end there as he then addressed the nature of the probe stating that he does not “know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair.”

During his interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, DeSantis continued by talking about his own approach to leadership, stating that he was always trying to bring personnel in who share the same agenda. He added that they try to run the government without any daily drama and that instead, they were focusing on the bigger comments.

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), said regarding DeSantis’s comments that it was “gutsy.” Cramer has not yet officially endorsed a candidate in the 2024 presidential race, however, he has been a vocal critic of Trump lately. He added regarding Desantis that he was “stepping into a big arena. It’s a big arena,” and a player within it cannot just silently take all the blows.
