(PartiallyPolitics.com) – President Biden in his latest gaffe reported the wrong number of additional jobs added to the market in February, greatly underselling his administration’s achievements. Biden informed the press that in the last month, there were 300,000 jobs that were created. As he points out this was in addition to the half a million jobs that had been created and added to the market the previous job.

However, he then proceeded to say that since he took office there had been more than 12,000 jobs that had been created, with close to 8,000 manufacturing jobs having been created. As he concluded this means that the Biden administration has added two years more jobs than any order administration has added in four years.

However, this was a gaffe on Biden’s part as his administration has not added 12,000 jobs, but rather as the White House frequently states they have added 12 million jobs since the start of the administration. The Republicans have repeatedly tried to bring this accomplishment down by saying that these were jobs that were added back following the COVID-19 pandemic.

In February U.S. hiring also increased with the labor market remaining strong despite the expected rise in interest rates and inflation rates.

The Labor Department revealed that in February 311,000 jobs had been added by employees. This is a much higher number than the 205,000 jobs that Refinitiv economists had originally forecasted.
