(PartiallyPolitics.com) – In the latest poll from the New Hampshire Institute of Politics, former President Donald Trump has a 13-point lead against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) among New Hampshire voters. The poll was publicized on Monday and it shows that Trump is currently the clear front-runner in the state, with 42 percent of voters stating that they would vote for him in the 2024 GOP primary.
Trump announced his third bid for the White House in 2022. However, DeSantis, while highly speculated to consider making a bid for the White House, has not yet announced what his plans are. In this latest poll, DeSantis who is the only candidate currently to appear to be able to challenge Trump for the GOP nomination received 29 percent of the votes.
Of those who responded to the poll, 14 percent also stated that they would support New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R), who has not yet announced his intentions for the 2024 presidential race, while 4 percent would support former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) and 3 percent would back conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Haley and Ramaswamy are two of the other candidates who have already joined the presidential race against Trump.
The polling comes after Trump’s indictment on Thursday and his expected arraignment on Tuesday in connection to the hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence prior to the 2016 presidential election.
