(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Wednesday, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) deployed a $2.2 million investment in important battleground states. The investment is mainly focused on the state legislature level, with $1.1 million being placed in an attempt to maintain the majority in the Michigan state House, while another half a million is being used for the Pennsylvania state House race.
In New Hampshire, where the two chambers are under GOP control, the DLCC has used $250,000 in an attempt to help flip the state House while another $100,000 is being used to flip the state Senate.
In North Carolina, where the state Legislature is once again under Republican control, $60,000 will be used in each chamber, while in Wisconsin each chamber will receive $24,000. Another $50,000 will be invested in an attempt to maintain control of the House of Representatives in Minnesota.
The investment comes after the committee’s rollout of the “Summer of the States” campaign in June during which a total of $10 million had been used in new investments in battleground states.
On Wednesday, the DLCC vice president of development Anastasia Apia noted that this is the first of their investment and that they would continue to make strategic investments based on the data collected in order to increase their impact in the cycle.
The Democrats are aiming to increase enthusiasm following President Joe Biden’s decision to no longer seek reelection in the 2024 presidential race. After his announcement he officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who is now considered the presumptive Democratic nominee.
