(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Former President Donald Trump has alleged that the House Select Committee that handled the Jan. 6 investigation had “illegally” destroyed documents.

Trump took to Truth Social on Tuesday night to state that there have been reports about the committee destroying documents and records. He continued to argue that because of his recent charges, he has “full Subpoena Power.” He further argued that the indictment against him was “unthinkable’” and argued that the Department of Justice indictment against him was “fake” and politically driven. As he stated the indictment needed to be “immediately withdrawn.”

In his post, Trump also stated that much like the 2020 Presidential election the system was currently rigged and that the United States was now in decline.

The Subcommittee on Oversight for the Committee on House Administration chair Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., recently revealed to Fox News that the Jan. 6 panel which was made up of predominantly Democrats and only included two Republicans had not properly preserved all the video depositions and documents related to their investigation.

Loudermilk further said that a defense attorney had contacted him to request access to information that should exist within one video deposition. However, after the committee checked they were unable to find the videos that were requested. He proceeded to allege that the “Blue Team,” a group within the Jan. 6 subcommittee committee, had been the one called to investigate what security failures had occurred in the Capitol on that day. Despite the team’s efforts though, the panel refused to listen to anything that did not place the blame for the attack on Trump.

Last Thursday Trump pleaded not guilty on four charges relating to his efforts to remain in the White House after the 2020 presidential election and his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
