(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Mainstream media tried to put the blame on former President Donald Trump’s trial not having a jury on his legal team. However, the former President argued that he was not given the choice and that the lack of option was “railroading” and part of his opposition efforts to weaponize the American justice system.

Before entering the New York courtroom for the third day of his trial Trump argued that what was happening was a “witch-hunt.” He further claimed that they were using against him a “consumer-fraud statute,” and had blocked him from having a jury. Trump is currently in the middle of a civil trial related to the case brought against him by Letitia James, the Attorney General of New York.

Trump in his statement further argued that James was incompetent and her actions were forcing companies to leave New York.

Both Trump and Alina Habba, his legal spokeswoman, have opposed the claims that Trump’s legal team selected to not have a jury trial. The case is now being presided over by Justice Arthur Engoron.

Trump argued that the “witch-hunt” against him blocked him from having a jury and that “under 63(12)” he was not entitled to a jury. As he pointed out this is the first time that this section had been used in that way, and it is only happening because he is currently leading the 2024 presidential race against President Joe Biden. He then alleged that all of these efforts were being completely coordinated by Washington.
