(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis defended former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who was recently attacked by former President Donald Trump on Friday.

DeSantis, who announced his presidential candidacy this month, stated during an appearance on the NH Journal podcast that even Trump’s supporters have pointed out that the former President was not the best at choosing “good people.” This led to him making many “terrible personnel decisions,” which included Jerome Adams. However, he noted that Kayleigh was one of Trump’s best choices and she had done a “fantastic job” while serving.

The Florida governor proceeded to praise Kayleigh, who as he pointed out is a “Harvard-trained lawyer,” “an absolute killer,” and she had done incredibly well when it came to handling the press. He added that he considered Trump’s attack against her “really, really bad.”

In a recent Truth Social Post on Tuesday, Trump had slammed McEnany who had been the White House spokesperson during his administration. As Trump had stated in his post, McEnany had made a mistake when releasing the poll numbers on FoxNews, and had claimed that the difference between himself and Trump was smaller than it was because of it. He had proceeded to say “RINOS & Globalists can have her” and that “FoxNews should only use REAL Stars!!!”

It is still unclear which poll McEnany was exactly referring to during her appearance on Jesse Watters Primetime where she referred to the gap between Trump and DeSantis closing in Iowa. However, an Emerson College Polling last week found that Trump is leading by 42 percentage points in Iowa.
