
(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Sunday the Southern California Disneyland Resorts was closed as Tropical Storm Hilary reached the region. However, Universal Studios Hollywood has stated that they would remain open on Monday despite the extreme weather condition.
The resort closed on Sunday at around 10 p.m. rather than its usual 12 a.m. closing time. Disney California Adventure also closed an hour earlier than its usual closing time at 10 p.m. The park’s shopping and dining area is usually open until 1am but it was closed two hours earlier.
In a statement, the resort noted that they were closely monitoring the hurricane and that they would make any necessary changes based on the information that they receive from the National Weather Service.
While the theme park is closed, guests will still be able to receive services at the hotel. However, Universal Studios Hollywood has stated that their parks would continue to be open while they monitor the hurricane. In a statement, they noted that the safety of their team and guests was a priority and that they encourage all guests to continue checking their website for any updates about the park before they visit.
The area in Southern California which is a drought-prone region has now been experiencing flooding caused by the rain.
The Tropic storm arrived on Sunday morning and the area is expected to have heavy rainfall for the entirety of Sunday. A tropical storm warning has been issued to millions of people in the state.
