(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Tuesday, Fox News released a story commenting on the many false statements that former President Trump had made against Florida Governor DeSantis, stating that these were “false narratives.”
The story pointed out that Trump’s attacks have so far been unsuccessful in reducing the support that DeSantis has experienced, and they proceeded to praise DeSantis for staying out of the “mudslinging” until recently. DeSantis had not been responding to Trump’s attacks for months, and only started responding recently after he joined the presidential race.
In the story, they also pointed out that Trump had attacked DeSantis on various issues including his handling of the pandemic, his stance on social security, and several other issues. The article also pointed out that there were many Twitter arguments between members of Trump’s and DeSantis’s teams and claimed that many of these arguments are the result of DeSantis having launched his presidential campaign late last month.
Many outlets and political observers have paid a lot of attention to the relationship that Fox has with the two leading GOP candidates, especially considering that Trump has often attacked the media company for their attempts to boost DeSantis in recent months. This situation is only expected to intensify now that both candidates have started to campaign more insanely.
Despite his recent criticisms of the network, Trump recently agreed to sit for an extensive interview with Fox’s leading news anchor Bret Baier. At the same time, Trump had an unconventional campaign rollout which included an online launch event on Twitter Spaces with CEO Elon Musk. Thus far, DeSantis has not agreed to any lengthy interview from any outlets.
