(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, his daughter Ivanka Trump released a statement noting that she was praying for the country. During the shooting, a bullet grazed Donald Trump’s ear.
On Saturday, in a post on X, the 42-year-old daughter of the former President thanked everyone for their love and prayers for her family and the other victims of the shooting. The shooting had resulted in one person dying, while two others were injured and had been in critical condition for a time.
In a statement, the Secret Service noted that the suspected shooter had fired several shots from the rooftop that was located close to the rally venue. The shooting had taken place during the first few minutes of Trump delivering his remarks. In the Secret Service statement, it was noted that the former President is “safe” and has been “evaluated.”
In her statement, Ivanka Trump expressed gratitude for the authorities and noted that she was thankful for the quick decisions that had been taken by law enforcement officers and the Secret Service on that day. She added that she continues to pray for the United States while also expressing her love for her father.
While Ivanka Trump had served in Trump’s first administration she noted on the night of her father’s announcement about his 2024 presidential campaign that she was not intending on being involved in politics. She has stated that instead, she was choosing to stay home and raise her three young children rather than join Trump on the campaign trail.
