(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Last week, a video was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows a heckler who had shouted during Vice President Kamala Harris’ speech last weekend about the climate emergency that she is failing to address.
The video was shared by the Daily Caller and it shows the heckler shouting so loud that oftentimes, Harris who was at the podium could not be heard.
In the video, the protester could be heard loudly shouting that there was a climate emergency and that in Hawaii alone over 100 people had lost their lives, while around the world thousands of people were being displaced. In response to the heckler, Harris simply said that she was speaking, and the heckler was shortly removed by security.
Last week, wildfires burned several islands in Hawaii. The fires were made worse by the high winds caused by Hurricane Dora. Maui in particular was hit hard by the wildfires which are believed to have been caused because of the dry and hot conditions. However, the cause of the fires has not yet been discovered.
As of Tuesday, the fires had led to over 100 deaths in Maui while Lahaina, a historic town, was almost completely destroyed by the wildfires. The fires have caused the displacement of thousands of people, while hundreds of others are still missing. Search-and-rescue efforts in the islands continue as they are trying to rescue anyone who might have been caught in the rubble.
Two days after the start of the wildfires President Biden issued a disaster declaration and started supplying the state with federal aid that is meant to help support the area.
