(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Friday, former President Donald Trump pushed for voters to support President Joe Biden despite his poor performance during the first presidential debate.
In a post on X, Obama argued that bad debate nights could occur, but that this election was about choosing between someone who has spent his entire life fighting for ordinary Americans or someone whose only care was for himself. Between a person who knew how to distinguish between right and wrong and someone who just lied all the time for his own benefit. In his post, he also linked to Biden’s campaign page arguing that this had not changed last night which is why there was so much at stake in the upcoming election.
CNN hosted the first presidential debate on Thursday night, which resulted in many Democrats panicking because of Biden’s poor showing against former President Donald Trump. Despite this Obama came out to support Biden despite his performance.
During the majority of the 90 minutes of the debate, President Biden’s voice had appeared raspy, while he often paused, or lost his train of thought during his remarks. He also had trouble with clearly putting his point across. A flash poll by the hosting network showed that 67 percent of viewers believed that Trump had won the debate.
During the 2012 election cycle, Biden received a lot of criticism for his performance against the-Republican nominee Mitt Romney, despite this he was still able to win his reelection.
On Friday, the White House attempted to dismiss the notion that Biden would withdraw or step aside in the presidential race.
