(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Tuesday, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) announced a new initiative that would push constituents to take advantage of the early voting and vote-by-mail ballots in order to stop Republicans from losing elections by thousands of votes.
Youngkin released a video in which he promoted the creation of the online portal “Secure Your Vote Virginia” which will enable people in his state to vote early safely. In the video, he claimed that they were working to ensure that their state would be the best possible place to live and work and that it was not possible for them to do that when they were down by thousands of votes in elections.
The website is aiming to show how Republicans can sign up to be on Virginia’s absentee ballot list, and it provides information about the voting procedure and where they can go in order to be an early voter in the elections.
As he told Fox News it was time for Republicans to step up and stop letting the Democrats have a better performance when it comes to voting early. He added that he was tired of seeing the Republicans lose by thousands of votes and that it would be much better if Republicans learned how to vote by mail or to vote early.
In the past few elections, Republicans have avoided early voting or mail-in ballots as a result of former President Donald Trump and other Republicans pushing voters to not use these methods for casting their votes.
Virginia is preparing for the 2023 elections in the state which will include both state Senate and House seats.
