(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is getting roasted for his Father’s Day grilling picture.
On Sunday, Schumer (D-New York) took to X to post a photograph celebrating Father’s Day, which showed him grinning as he balanced a burger on a spatula.
He wrote that his family had “lived in an apartment building for all our years,” but since his daughter and her wife’s recent home purchase, they could grill hamburgers and hot dogs at his first-ever family barbecue.
He concluded, “Father’s Day Heaven!”
However, the lawmaker’s photograph quickly fanned the flames of criticism, with critics pointing out his whopper-sized grilling (and possibly common sense) mistake.
Schumer was raked over the coals for topping his seemingly uncooked hamburger with a slice of cheese.
In response to the post, Donald Trump Jr. posted to X that while he understood Schumer’s attempt at “playing to the masses… literally no one” tops their raw beef patty with cheese.
Former President Donald Trump’s son added that if the New York Democrat needed assistance learning “to do basic grilling stuff,” Schumer should let him know.
Another X user replied in the comments, stating that while they weren’t a “grilling master,” Schumer didn’t have a “clue what he’s doing.”
However, it appears the heat was too much for Schumer, as the post had been removed from X by Monday.
Schumer isn’t the only Democrat who appears to not conduct in the all-American pastime of grilling.
In 2022, New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) was relentlessly mocked for posing at the grill in a spotless white dress.
A year before Hochul’s obviously staged picture, Terry McAuliffe, Virginia’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate, took the heat for posting a Fourth of July video of him cooking hamburgers and hotdogs on a grill that wasn’t on.
