(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Late on Monday night, former President Donald Trump was indicted a fourth time in Georgia. The four legal battles that Trump is facing are costing American taxpayers millions of dollars.
Since the start of 2023, “Save America” the political action committee (PAC) supporting Trump has spent over $20 million in legal fees and is expected to spend more than $3 million in the second half of the year.
Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith during the first four months of his probe into the classified documents found in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate spent close to $5.5 million. Similarly, Special Counsel John Durham had spent his investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia collusion claims over $7.6 million.
On Monday night, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) noted during an interview on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” that during his third presidential campaign, Trump has thus far spent more on his legal team than he has on his campaign. He proceeded to say that he was there on Jan. 6, 2021, and had seen what happened. According to Graham, it is up to the American people to make a choice on whether or not they want Trump as their president or not. As she pointed out this is a matter that should be decided during the election and not through liberal jurisdictions and attempts to imprison Trump.
Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney unveiled on Monday an indictment against Trump and 18 of his allies who had been part of the efforts to overturn the state’s elections.
