(PartiallyPolitics.com) – The Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.) will make a visit to the site where former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Pennsylvania, where there had been an assassination attempt against him, had taken place. Information about his planned trip was released according to a media advisory from the committee on Saturday.

In the advisory, Green noted that the committee was focused on finding answers relating to the security lapses by the Secret Service which caused the murder of one attendee, Corey Comperatore, and former President Donald Trump being injured on the site. The advisory also included the schedule for the Monday visit where they will focus on the assassinate attempt on Trump’s life.

The advisory notes that Green will not be making the visit to the campaign rally site on his own, and will be joined by 10 other committee members.

Last week, during the mapping rally, Trump had been hit on his ear by one of the bullets. During the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee Trump had a bandage on his ear that had been hit during the shooting.

Following the shooting, the Secret Service has faced a lot of criticism with many people arguing that it was a security failure that the gunman had been able to access a rooftop so close to the former President that allowed him to have a clear line of sight.

On Wednesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) took to the social media platform X to call for a change in the Secret Service leadership. As he had argued, the country deserved to have answers following the attack.
