(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Following Friday’s interview ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos stated that he does not believe President Biden is capable of serving for another four years in office. In a video that was obtained by TMZ, Stephanopoulos is in the streets of New York only days after his interview, where he is asked whether he believes following the high-stakes interview that Biden needs to step down.
In response to the question, Stephanopoulos noted that he does not believe Biden is capable of serving for another term in office.
White House spokesperson Andrew Bates in response to this latest development pointed out that White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had reaffirmed on Tuesday that the president was committed to not only finishing his term but also completing a second full term in the White House. The Biden campaign has not provided any further comments or response to Fox News Digital.
An ABC News spokesperson noted in response to Fox News Digital’s request for comments that Stephanopoulos was only expressing his personal opinion and that this is not a reflection of the network’s position.
Stephanopoulos’ spokesperson also put out a statement from the host noting that he had responded to a question from a passerby, but that he should have avoided doing so.
The host had the first extensive national interview with President Biden since his poor performance in the presidential debate late last month. The debate resulted in many Democrats and even members of the media calling for Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.
