(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Saturday, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) stated that his nephew who had attended former President Donald Trump’s rally had been grazed by a bullet.
As he told Fox News’s Sean Hannity his nephew was present during Trump’s event on Saturday evening, and explained how he had been in the “friends and family pen.” He noted that when shots had been fired everyone had ended up dropping to the ground and that during that time he had been grazed by the bullet in the neck. Jackson also noted that he did not know whether they had seen the images from the event but that the bullet had cut his neck and he had ended up bleeding.
Jackson, who is a former White House physician, noted that the pen is located to the right of the former President and that it was in the shooter’s “line of fire.” He also explained how following the incident his sister-in-law had pushed for his nephew to head to the triage tent.
On Saturday, following the shooting, Trump had been quickly escorted away from his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. According to the United States Secret Service, one other attendee had been killed in the shooting, while two others had been critically injured.
The agency noted that the shooter had been “neutralized.” The Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign put out statements about Trump “doing well” and noted that the former President was looking forward to traveling for the Republican National Convention to Milwaukee next week.
