(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Saturday, during a recent appearance at the Young Republican Club’s 111th annual gala in New York Donald Trump who delivered a keynote speech might have violated his gag order after attacking former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr who he referred to as a “coward.”

In his remarks, Trump promised that if he won back the White House he would not be rehiring Barr as an attorney general. He also slammed him over his refusal to support the allegations of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election.

In December 2020 Barr resigned as attorney general after Trump had continued to falsely claim without providing any evidence that the election had been “stolen” from him and that President Joe Biden had only won because of widespread voter fraud. However, Barr had stated that the probe by the Department of Justice had not found any evidence to back these claims.

Trump proceeded to argue that he pledged that Barr would not be the attorney general again and stated that he was simply a “coward” who had been scared of the possibility of ending up impeached.

With the suggestions that Barr could end up being one of the witnesses in the election interference case brought forward against Trump by Special Counsel Jack Smith, it is possible that Trump’s comments may be in violation of Judge Tanya Chutkan’s order, as she had previously placed a gag order on Trump attacking any of the potential witnesses. Chutkan’s gag order was also upheld by an appeals court on Friday, which determined that Trump was able to criticize Smith.
