(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump appeared to be in a good mood after his legal team rested their case in the hush money trial.
In a video that was shared on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump told reporters outside the courtroom in Manhattan that he felt “very good.” He continued by claiming that they had put forward a great case and that no crime had been committed. He added that he had seen all the reviews that have been completed regarding the case so far and that everyone was in agreement that no crime had been committed. He then pointed out that the case should be dismissed before they even got a verdict.
Trump added that Judge Juan Merchan who is overseeing the hush money trial is “conflicted.”
Trump’s legal team has previously called for Merchan to recuse himself before his daughter’s, Loren Merchan, involvement as the president of a progressive political consulting firm based in Chicago called Authentic Campaigns. Loren Merchan has previously worked with many major Democratic fundraisers, and some of the company’s top clients include Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).
Trump argued that the situation was very frustrating as no one had ever seen something like this before.
Trump’s legal team and prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office are going to be meeting on Tuesday to discuss what legal instructions the jury should receive to determine what Trump’s fate in this case is going to be. It is expected that next week both sides will deliver their closing arguments.
