(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. recently alleged that Fox News has been attempting to “silence” his father’s supporters by blocking him from accessing the spin room during the first GOP primary debate.
Late on Wednesday Trump Jr. noted in a social media post that Fox News was attempting to “silence” the former President’s supporters to protect the candidates that they have selected. The post also included a video in which he was shown discussing with reporters following the end of the debate.
The first primary debate was hosted by Fox News, however, former President Donald Trump chose not to attend, citing his strong lead in the primary as the reason. He further stated that Fox News has repeatedly covered him in a hostile way which is why he was unwilling to participate in the debate they were hosting. However, since Trump was not in attendance none of his surrogates received access to the “spin room.”
The Hill reported this week that according to a memo the network had sent only the surrogates of the presidential candidates that were attending the debate were given credentials to the “spin room.” However, it did note that surrogates of candidates who were not participating in the debate were still able to enter the “spin room” as guests of media organizations who had access to the location.
Spin room reporters also posted photos online of a pamphlet that security had which showed the photos of many top Trump aides stating that they were barred from the debate, however, the former President’s son was not included in that flier.
