(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Friday, in a campaign stop, former President Donald Trump claimed that there was proof that mobs of crowds had been entering department stores and stealing large appliances without law enforcement taking action.

When it comes to crime Trump argued that one could go to some department stores right now and there would be 500 people entering the store and exiting with air conditioners, he added that they were emptying out the store. These claims were made during a Turning Point Action in Arizona address where Trump slammed the policies followed by President Biden and his administration. He continued by claiming that this leads to companies “going out of business,” having stores vacant for decades and the entire city turning into a slum.

The 2024 November presidential race will most likely see Trump against President Biden in a rematch of the 2020 election. Both candidates have been going around the country in an attempt to win support for their candidacy as the race is expected to be extremely close.

The Hill has tried asking the Trump campaign for clarifications on these latest remarks by Trump. A spokesperson in response directed the outlet to look at “pack theft” and residential HVAC thefts across U.S. cities.

One news outlet had noted that thieves were taking HVAC units and that many contractors in Virginia had reported having several units stolen.

Trump during his campaign stops has put a lot of focus on crime, inflation, and immigration, arguing that President Biden worsened the situation in America. However, the statistics stand against the former President as it is shown that the economy currently is good.
