(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump attacked actor George Clooney following an op-ed that he wrote in which he called for President Biden to exit the presidential race.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump argued that Clooney, who had never made a “great movie” is now “getting into the act” as he has turned against the President. He then questioned what Clooney knew about anything, and argued that he needed to exit politics and return to television, as the movies had not worked for him.
In an op-ed published in the New York Times, Clooney argued that the Democratic party would not be winning in the 2024 presidential election, with Biden as the President. Clooney, who had been a top fundraiser for Biden in the past argued that while the President was a “friend” there had been changes to him.
The longtime Democrat argued that he loves Biden as a senator, vice president, and even president and that he believes in his morals and character. He also pointed out that Clooney had fought and won many battles over his one term in office. However, there is one battle that even he is incapable of winning, and that is the fight against time, as no one can win that one.
Clooney argued that while it is devastating to say, the Biden that had appeared at the fundraiser three weeks earlier, was different to the Joe Biden of 2010 or 2020, and was the same as the man that they saw in the presidential debate.
He continued by noting that while it would be “messy” for Biden to exit the presidential race at this point, it would be well worth it. Clooney also referred to Biden as a hero, arguing that in 2020 he had saved democracy.
