(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On “The Story with Martha MacCallum,” Fox News anchor Bret Baier reported that following Saturday’s assassination attempt former President Donald Trump was in “great spirits” while recovering. He added that he and President Biden had a “good conversation” following the incident.
Baier noted that Trump was leaving for Milwaukee, which is where the Republican National Convention will take place, at 3:30. He added that Trump had taken to his social media platform Truth Social to express his understanding of how lucky and blessed he had been. He noted that his doctors had informed him that had the bullet hit him in a position that was a quarter of an inch different he could potentially not be speaking with a doctor.
He added that Trump has also shared several social media posts in which he is calling for greater unity in the country and has stated that this will be one of the main themes that he will focus on during the convention.
Trump also noted that he was talking about bringing Nikki Haley to speak and that her accepting that offer was one of those exhibits of unity. He also praised President Biden for calling him on the phone following the incident. He added that it had been a “good conversation” during which Biden had expressed his condolences toward the family that had been lost during the shooting. Former President Trump also referred to the Comperatore family.
On Saturday, there was an attempted assassination attempt during Trump’s Pennsylvania rally which shocked the world as the bullet scraped Trump’s right ear.
