(PartiallyPolitics.com) – The White House has been accused of having attempted to smooth out the speech transcript used by President Joe Biden in an event in Las Vegas after he had allegedly made a mistake on the spending numbers.

On Friday, during his speech at the Carpenter International Training Center in Las Vegas, Biden had claimed that his administration had spent more than $8 billion in railroad investments, which included a high-speed rail line project for $3 million that would connect Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Biden appeared to make a mistake during his speech on the spending figures that are connected to his infrastructure bill from 2021 before he tried to correct himself and give a figure that was far closer to the correct one.

Biden stated that under his administration the United States was not having an Infrastructure Week, like the one it had under the Trump administration, but instead, he was having an Infrastructure Decade. He further pointed out that there are “over a billion three hundred million trillion three hundred million dollars” being spent on infrastructure.

The remark led to many criticizing the president over his gaffe as it appeared that the President provided a completely imaginary number.

Oren Ross, who the Post has described as a “critic” of the President questioned why it sounded like the U.S. president sounded like his 4-year-old son when trying to make up what the highest number could possibly be.

The actual amount of the infrastructure bill is $1.2 trillion.
