(PartiallyPolitics.com) – The View host Whoopi Goldberg said that conservatives needed to stop bringing up former First Lady Hillary Clinton and President Joe Biden when discussing former President Donald Trump’s indictment over the alleged mishandling of classified documents that were retrieved from his Mar-a-Lago home.
Trump was indicted last week on 37 felony counts relating to retaining classified documents, violating the Espionage Act, obstructing justice and several other charges. During his first court appearance in connection to this case on Tuesday, Trump pleaded not guilty.
Goldberg during a segment of “The View” on Wednesday stated that she did not want to hear about Clinton or about what any other person has done. He added that this was because no other person had refused to answer any inquiries regardless of how “poorly” they were questioned. She argued that Trump had broken the law and that there were tape recordings in which he admitted to it.
The co-host also argued that when it came to classified documents found in their possession everyone else was open and cooperated with investigators.
President Biden is also being investigated for keeping in his possession classified documents after leaving his position as Vice President. The documents were found in his former office space, and in his Delaware home in December. However, according to Goldberg, Biden was not responsible for this, and instead, it was the responsibility of former President Barack Obama who would have been responsible for declassifying the documents.
Under federal law, vice presidents are in a position to classify and declassify documents.
