(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott on Wednesday testified before the House Homeland Security Committee, where he stated that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ agenda only included one thing, and that was allowing more migrants to enter the U.S.

The statement was made while the Committee was examining further Mayorkas’ alleged “dereliction of duty.” Scott during the hearing argues that Mayorkas is “not incompetent” but rather that he knew exactly what his policies were going to achieve.

Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., asked Scott whether he had firsthand knowledge of whether Customs and Border Patrol agents had told Mayorkas that they needed to change the policies in order to curb the incoming wave of migration. In response, Scott stated that the Secretary had received both verbal and written communication. He added that it was important for people to know how everything shifted. He added that when he was working for former Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf they had all been told to inform him of everything that they believed was not working. However, that initiative completely ended on Jan. 20, 2021.

He added that their input was no longer desired, but that he and his team considered giving their “unsolicited” input. Regardless of this, it was very clear that those in charge were not interested in listening to what they had to say and that the only agenda was expediting the process and figuring out ways for more migrants to be allowed into the country.

Scott started serving as Border Patrol head in January 2020 under President Donald Trump, and left his post in August 2021, under President Biden.
