(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Friday, former President Donald Trump, who is the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, claimed in a post on his social media platform Truth Social that he was ready to take President Joe Biden on in a debate at “ANYTIME, ANYPLACE.”

Earlier on Friday, Biden had also informed radio host Howard Stern that he was happy to have a debate against Trump as they were entering the final stretch before the 2024 presidential election. During a one-on-one interview with Stern, Biden had argued that he did not know when but that he would be happy to have a debate against Trump.
In response to these remarks, Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to state that Biden had just announced that he was willing to have a debate against him. He added that everyone knew that Biden did not really mean that but in the case that he did, he would be happy to fight Biden at “ANYTIME” and in “ANYPLACE.”

Two campaign advisers for Trump had sent a letter to an independent commission earlier this month noting that they normally sanctioned events like this, and even called for them to have an “accelerated debates timetable” and had argued that they should hold more than the three usual debates during this campaign cycle.

Currently, the first presidential debate is scheduled to take place on Sept. 16 and will be followed by two more debates one on Oct. 1 and one on Oct. 9. The debates will be held at the Texas State University, Virginia State University, and the University of Utah.
