(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Former Trump attorney and fixer Michael Cohen blasted the former President’s sons over their recent testimony during the New York civil fraud trial.
In an appearance on MSNBC with Ali Velshi, Cohen talked about Donald Trump, his two sons Donald Jr. and Eric, and the ongoing fraud trial in New York for which he is considered one of the star witnesses.
Cohen claimed during the interview that both of Trump’s sons had lied under oath and that their behavior was an emulation of their father. He added that Trump was someone who lied in the same way that other people breathed and that this was a behavior that his children were now emulating. He then questioned how “stupid” they needed to be to be doing that.
On Thursday both Donald Jr. and Eric had denied having any involvement in the financial statements that have prompted the investigation and subsequent legal case. They also attempted to absolve themselves of any involvement with the Trump Organization and create some distance. The financial statements are one of the key pieces of evidence that the attorney general has been using to back her fraud case.
In the case, New York Attorney General Letitia James accuses Trump, his children, and the Trump Organization of having inflated the value of their assets in order to gain more beneficial deals from banks and insurers while deflating it in order to benefit from lower taxes.
Cohen claimed that Trump’s sons had not received any legal preparation before the testimony and even questioned whether they believed the trial was a “joke.”
