Republicans Starting To Like Far-Left Democrat

(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Democratic Sen. John Fetterman has received support from some Republicans because of his stance on the immigration crisis and Israel. While previously the GOP had taken to calling him “radical socialist” he is now more commonly referred to as an “independent.”

Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., noted that Fetterman’s stance potentially made him more appealing to work with on certain things, because of this independent stance he had. Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., similarly praised Fetterman for stating what was on his mind and not just following party lines.

It is not yet clear whether Fetterman is going to follow in the steps of retiring Sens. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and act as a possible chamber deal-maker in upcoming years. However, as of right now, Fetterman’s voting record shows that he continues to be aligned with the Democrats.

Recently the freshmen Senator had told Politico that the GOP should not be surprised by his stance regarding the border and Israel. He further argued that the Republicans should not believe the campaign attacks that had been launched against him in 2022.

Last year, when Fetterman had taken office, many had previously thought of him as similar to Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., dubbing him a democratic socialist. However, since then he has often defended Israel in its war against Hamas, while many liberal Democrats and Sanders have been pushing for the United States to stop providing aid to the country. He pushed for the Democrat Sen. Bob Menendez, New Jersey, to be indicted on bribery charges and supported the bipartisan immigration talks.
