(PartiallyPolitics.com) – Former President Donald Trump arrived for his campaign rally in Clinton, Iowa three hours after the event was set to start. He argued that traveling from Newton to Clinton, Iowa where he had held an earlier event was a “hell of a trip” but that as he told the crowd there was no way he could be canceling the event.

During the event which was held at a Clinton high school, Trump told the audience that he had a “great time” in one of the state’s districts and that they had correctly decided at first to rent a small plane as the large plane would have trouble with the little runways. However, a trip that should have only required 15 minutes to be completed ended up taking hours as the small plane was not working.

The rally in which Trump shared this story was aired live in its entirety on Newsmax. Trump also shared that his campaign had told him that even if he canceled the people in Clinton would be understanding, but Trump stated that there was “no way” he would be canceling. He proceeded to state that while that had been “quite a trip” he could not have canceled the rally when people had been posting online photos of all the queues of people who were waiting to see him.

Trump then questioned the crowd whether they got an “‘A’ for effort.”

Trump started his Clinton speech by thanking all those who had shown up and that his campaign dared to do many things but canceling on Clinton was not one of them. He then proceeded to wish the people in Clinton Happy New Year and argued that they would help them win the 2024 presidential election, as the people in the state are going to be casting a very important vote.
