( – One of former President Donald Trump’s top supporters has left his side in the early-voting state of New Hampshire and has instead joined Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign.

State Rep. Fred Doucette, who previously served as New Hampshire co-chair of Trump’s 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, has now switched sides and is serving as a senior strategist and co-chair in New Hampshire for Ramaswamy’s campaign. New Hampshire is an important state in the primary as it holds the first primary and second overall contest in the GOP’s presidential nominating calendar.

On Thursday, Doucette released a statement in which he claimed that Ramaswamy was going to be the one to help “deliver the America First agenda, without the drama.”

Ramaswamy, a first-time candidate, and multi-millionaire health care and tech sector entrepreneur has already started placing a lot of his campaign focus on New Hampshire and Iowa, which is first in the nation caucus. He first declared his candidacy on the Fox News Channel in late February. He is now scheduled to appear in New Hampshire next week, in a campaign tour that will take him through all 10 New Hampshire counties.

In a statement about the addition of Doucette to his team, Ramaswamy said that Doucette “has a proven track record of leadership” and will be able to help him deliver good results. He further added that they were going to be “taking America First to the next level” and that Doucette was going to be a key player in their efforts, especially in New Hampshire.
