(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Sunday former White House Press Secretary turned MSNBC host Jen Psaki stated that the public appearances made by President Joe Biden’s son were not helpful to the White House, especially following his decision to defy a congressional subpoena.

Psaki during her comments alleged that the White House was probably hoping that Hunter Biden would stop making any public comments. NBC host Kristen Welker asked Psaki what her view was on Wednesday’s press conference by Hunter Biden where he announced that he would not be speaking to House Republicans despite the subpoena. Specifically, Welker asked Psaki whether she believed the press conference had been helpful to the White House or not.

In response, Psaki argued that most likely they were all in the White House thinking that while the President loved his son, he needed to stop making public comments. She added that having him out there making public comments was not helpful to anyone, but simultaneously Joe Biden loved his and that this took “precedent over anything else.”

Psaki further argued that the White House was most likely thinking that they wanted him to go away.

PBS News’ Geoff Bennet noted in an earlier segment that while the House GOP’s impeachment inquiry could prove to be without merit, the White House was still at risk of the inquiry becoming a distraction ahead of the 2024 presidential campaign.

During Hunter Biden’s press conference on Capitol Hill this week, he had argued that the Republican was trying to “belittle” his recovery. He further stated that he would not be providing testimony in private despite the congressional subpoena he had received.
