(PartiallyPolitics.com) – A new poll has shown that the three top Republican presidential candidates would be leading in a general election race against President Joe Biden.

The CBS News/YouGov poll has found that former President Donald Trump, who is the frontrunner in the GOP primary race, as well as former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are currently in the lead in a hypothetical match-up with President Biden. Trump, who continues to maintain a strong lead in the Republican race, was not the candidate who led the race against Biden by the most percentage points, as Haley was the one with the largest lead.

Haley was shown in the poll to have an 8-point lead in a hypothetical race against Biden, where she would win 53 percent while Biden would get around 45 percent. This is most likely because of the support that she has been gaining from Independents and moderates, as she appears to be the preferred Republican candidate for those demographics.

According to the poll,, Haley would receive the support of 59 percent of independent voters in a match-up with Biden. However, DeSantis would only win 55 percent support and Trump 54 percent from independents.

In a match-up between Trump and Biden, which is widely expected to be the case for the 2024 election, the poll found that Biden would be behind with 48 percent of the votes while Trump would have 50 percent of the votes.

Trump continues to lead the Republican primary according to a new survey which found that Trump has 69 percent of support while DeSantis and Haley have 14 and 12 percent respectively.
