(PartiallyPolitics.com) – On Wednesday, GOP Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) had argued that it was without doubt helpful to the Republicans that Robert F. Kennedy, who is running as an independent, is on the ballot.

During an interview, Scott had told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling that having a third party candidate, regarding who his running mate is going to be, is only going to result in the Democrats losing voters. a

Kennedy announced on Tuesday that his running mate is going to be entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan. In his announcement, he referred to her as a daughter of immigrants who had managed to overcome tough obstacles to fulfill the American dream.

Shanahan is the former wife of Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google. She has previously claimed that she is “liberal” and that she believes that the only way for the United States to become better is through changing “who we are.”

Scott argued that Shanahan believed that wealth needed to be redistributed and had opposed the idea that her life was proof that if one works hard they could get lucky.

Scott, who endorsed Trump in January, had previously run for the 2024 presidential election prior to withdrawing from the race in November. Scott is also reportedly on Trump’s list of possible vice presidential options and has argued that Shanahan as a choice has resulted in the Democrats trying to campaign harder in order to keep the support of Black voters in Detroit.

Trump has also previously stated that Kennedy is “great for MAGA.”
